“Heather is a fantastic care-giver and mother-substitute to my aged Shih-Tzu, Joe, when I have to be out of Ithaca. Joe has developed myriad health problems and cantankerous ways in his old age, but Heather responds to all of his eccentricities with understanding and affection. As a rescue dog, Joe can be very nervous and slow to open up, but he seems to truly trust Heather, as do I. She does a wonderful job not only with her charges but also with their parents, and she always makes an extra effort to keep me informed about Joe’s health and habits while I’m away.
